"Those sparks of inspiration feel really spiritual, it didn’t come from me but from something or someone else."
Talking with artists have been one of our favorite additions to Forevermore, and we are more than delighted to be able to feature an interview with Ruby Vidor. Forevermore is deeply intertwined with music and being able to discuss with artists that we love is a great honour. We truly hope you will fall in love with Ruby as much as we did.

Ruby Vidor: My name is Ruby Vidor. I’m a singer-songwriter-producer based in London. I make…I don’t even know how to describe my music. I think I’m on a journey of discovering what kind of music I make but it’s really a pop love child of soul and folk with a love of storytelling, ethereal music to make you feel like you’re in a different world. An ethereal place but you’re also grounded at the same time.

EMBRACING YOUR POETIC SELF : AN INTERVIEW WITH MARY ECKERT

"Love has a very high stakes: high rewards, high stakes kind of situation, but it’s always worth telling people."
The concept of being the poet and not the muse started gaining traction on social media a few years ago. While it lies at the core of Mary Eckert’s artistic identity, she doesn’t view it as a rejection of softness or femininity. On the contrary, Mary embraces her poetic self, and in this interview with Forevermore, she shares her thoughts with honesty, insight, and warmth.

Selma Tabti (interviewer): You told me you were considering yourself as a poet and a bard, do you mind telling me more about it ?

Mary Eckert: Lyrics have always really been important to me. They are the most important, even when I am listening to other people’s music. I can’t listen to something I don’t like the words of. I’ve always been drawn to lyrics : I love English, I love reading and I always loved creative writing at school. I wrote a song called Always too high and I guess the whole point of it is that I wrote a love poem. I’ve ended up writing the lyrics “You’re a sicko with words and I’m just a bard”. I think it unlocked something in my writing: I wanted to delve deeper into having more imagery and double meanings. I ended up being okay with telling everyone that I am a poet, a bard and a lyricist and I truly love the imagery of it.

"I think it’s the biggest lesson that I’ve learnt. Nobody is going to know when you are making a mistake, especially when it’s your own piece. If anything, they’re just going to think you’re playing a different variation of it."
While we often interview singer, we’ve decided to change a little bit by interviewing Kassidy Adams, a self-taught composer. Talking with her has providing us so much insights, especially concerning her own experience. As readers, you might like to read with music, well Kassidy Adams is your new favorite composer.

Kassidy Adams: Hi, I’m Kassidy. If I had to introduce myself, I would say that piano is a big part of my life. I’ve been playing since I was about 14 years-old. I did take lessons when I was 5  years-old, but it was only for a month…by the time I returned to piano in 9th grade, I had to start from scratch, hence why I consider myself self-taught. I feel like piano has been the one thing that I have been the most consistent with. I really love making music, composing and just conveying emotions through my music.

You don't want the characters to be a framing device for that. You don't write a story because you have an idea or a concept. You write a story because you have characters.

Gianna and Lyanna are both third year at Emerson College. They have decided at the very beginning of their university experience to create Glory and Gore, a short student film that falls into the genre academia, following the tale of Brooks Vaughn, the infamous former president of an elite university’s Symposium Club who returns to seemingly reclaim his role. Glory and Gore is available for free on their Youtube Channel. Step into their world with us in our exclusive first interview with Gianna and Lyanna.
